Just A Quickie

No Pictures Tonight Sorry!!

P.S. Black and Yellow all Day!

However I am going to answer a few questions that I have received.

1. How Long Did It Take Me to Lose The Weight

- It took me four months in order to go from a size 18 to 14 and then 1 more month from 14 to 10 so in total I guess you could say 5 Months.

2. How often did I exercise?

No matter what time or what day it was I walk/ran 3 miles every day. In everything you do there must be consistency that is the key. You could eat right for one day and run 3 miles but if you don't replace these better habits with your old habits of over eating, eating the wrong things, and not exercising then you will never see results. It takes 21 days to form a habit so start today!

3. What foods did I give up?

I entirely gave up Fast Food and Fried Foods. Don't get me wrong eating a salad while my roommates were eating fried wings and nachos was awful, grueling, just wrong, but I am so much better for it.

4. What foods did I start eating more?

FRUITS AND VEGETABLES. I also started eating leaner meats chicken and fish, all grilled. I grilled chicken, broiled it, baked it anything but fried it and just made sure that it was seasoned and then I put it on a salad that was not covered in RANCH dressing. Make sure you avoid cream based dressings at all cost!! And again read labels, just because it's oil based does not mean it's good for you! And with my salads I made sure they were colorful meaning lots of veggies and when I got tired of of chicken I would cut up lean turkey meat and maybe some cheese but don't make a habit of that!

Well Tonight is a bit short! Tomorrow I will discuss the workout's that I do now and what I have been eating for the last two days.

TUNE IN!

Day Two is The Real Test

For Breakfast I had aslice of this cinnamon raisin toast, as you you can see on the front of it there is a scripture Ezekiel 4:9 and that's because this scripture just describes exactly how the bread is madeits a flour less low glycemic whole grain bread. Don't let the description turn you away this bread is great with a quick pop in the toaster and a low fat spread on it you are good to go. You can find this at any grocery store in the organic frozen food section. I also added a bowl of oatmeal with some brown sugar and some grapefruit so I was full for a while and also had my fruit.

For Lunch I had a really hearty white bean soup that I made last night I got the recipe from the Boston Globe website it called for Great Northern Beans , Celery, Carrots, Onions and you want to soak the beans for at least 30mins to a couple of hours if you can overnight and before you get the beans in mix the veggies together with a little bit of olive oil to sauté them and then you get everything in the pot and bring it it to a boil for an hour or two or until the beans soften. You are definitely going to want to season it to your taste but REMEMBER to keep the salt to a point where it's just enough we don't need high blood pressure. At the end I did put a little bit of chicken broth in to just to season it some more.

Above you see the organic whole grain spaghetti, the organic Italian herb tomato sauce and the tofurky sausage. This was my dinner once again don't be afraid of the Tofurky sausage I knew when something is new to we tend to shrink back and think " Puh-Lease I am not about to try that mess that isn't even going to taste like the real thing." But not only does the sausage have 50% less fat than regular sausage but it taste great with the sauce and the noodles. With this I decided to make it noodles with a "meat" sauce on top. I got everything from Whole Foods, I know this too can be a little bit costly but you can like always go to any grocery store and just search for the whole grain noodles and the tofurky. If you decide you do not want an organic sauce just make sure to look for one with a low caloric content as well fat content per serving. READ ALL LABELS people may stare at you but who cares this is your decision to invest time in your health and your ideal weight. This meal is quick and easy I cut up peppers and onions to put in my sauce as well.

QUICK IDEAS FOR A GREAT BREAKFAST:

OATMEAL (WITHOUT ALL THE SUGAR, ADD YOUR OWN FRUIT OR EVEN RAISINS JUST LIKE McDONALDS JUST CHEAPER AND A HEALTHIER)
FRUIT (CUT IT UP THE NIGHT BEFORE AND TAKE IT WITH YOU ON THE RIDE TO WORK AND IF YOU NEED TO THROW IN SOME WHOLE WHEAT TOAST BUT AGAIN READ THE LABEL)
YOGURT AND LOW FAT GRANOLA( DON'T LET GRANOLA FOOL YOU IT CAN BE PACKED WITH SUGAR WHICH WOULD SET YOU BACK ) I LIKE CHOBANI GREEK YOGURT WITH GRANOLA, OR IF YOU WANT A CHEAP LOW FAT OPTION ANY DANNON OR YOPLAIT LIGHT AND FIT WORKS.

P.S. OKAY SO BECAUSE I AM NEW TO THE BLOGGING THING I AM GETTING USED TO A LOT SO BEAR WITH ME. TOMORROW I AM GOING TO SWITCH IT UP AND ADD IN SOME EXTRA'S SO TUNE IN!!

There is a First Time For Everything

Starting February 1, 2011 I will be going on a 30 day fruits and vegetables fast this also includes only natural and organic juices and foods. One thing I do know for sure is the last time that I decided to change my eating habits and combine that with exercise I went from a size 18 to a size 10 so through out these 30 days I will chronicle my meals, exercise routines as well as foods that I am sure will make for a healthy diet. There is no trick just discipline.

The delicious juice in the picture is an organic strawberry lemonade made from all natural ingredients and its gluten free, its not as sweet as other lemonades but it is still really good it cost about 2.99 at Kroger but I am sure if you look in any organic section at any grocery store you will find it.

Don't worry I wont just bore you with my raves on health food and exercise. But I will definitely throw in a little bit of this and that and be sure to ask your opinion on a couple of things as well and do my best to chronicle my day in pictures haha those work best.
